My name is Sierra and I am from Kaysville, Utah. This semester I will be a Senior, studying Nursing and Chinese at UVU. I currently work at Utah Valley Hospital as a registered nurse, caring for patients who are in respiratory distress and acquire deadly infections. I love the work that I do and know that with continuing my education, I may be able to better help the community. My husband and I have been happily married for over two years. We love to spend time outdoors, racing in obstacle Spartan races, and cooking meals for each other. My husband’s specialty is cowboy chicken and rice, a family favorite. On the other hand, I can make a mean Chinese tofu dish that will knock your socks off.

I will be in my third year at UVU’s Nursing School this fall. I am very excited to learn more valuable skills in my last semesters before obtaining my Bachelor’s degree.

Good quality healthcare has always been important in my life. While growing up, I spent a lot of time in hospital settings and have experienced, as a patient, what it is like to receive good quality care and also the opposite. With this in mind, I hope to incorporate what I have learned to provide compassionate service to my patients.

I want to pursue this career because I love people and I’m curious about science. As I look back at my first semester in nursing, I have noticed the difference my acquired knowledge has made in my life. I feel I am better at prioritizing my time and am more capable of critical thinking.

These skills will be invaluable as a nurse. As I continue in this program, I hope to further my education in many other aspects that will benefit my family and others.

I would like to thank you for your generous Revere Health Foundation Scholarship. I was very delighted and thrilled to learn I was chosen as one of the scholarship recipients. Upon receiving the Revere Health Foundation Scholarship, I gained a greater desire to complete my nursing education and take Chinese courses to gain a greater knowledge and understanding of the current and future work that I will do. Revere Health has financially supported my education during the past two years and I cannot convey how indebted I am for your generosity. Because of your financial assistance, I have been able to focus my attention and energy on furthering my education and gaining clinical experience. I am deeply honored to have this scholarship and express my gratitude for your support of my education and goals.

Again, I’m sincerely grateful for your generosity. This scholarship is invaluable to me and will play a key role in my education.
